Ms. C. DeNiese Waterstreet

DeNiese Waterstreet (née Marsden), 79, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, in Claresholm, Alberta. Born on May 26, 1946, at the Cardston Hospital in Cardston, Alberta, DeNiese was the daughter of LaVonte and Fay Marsden and grew up on the family farm outside of Leavitt, Alberta. She dedicated many years of her life to a meaningful career as a licensed practical nurse in High River, Alberta and Fernie, British Columbia, where she was especially passionate about caring for the elderly. Her compassion, patience, and dedication left a lasting impact on those she cared for and worked alongside. DeNiese was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Waterstreet; her parents, LaVonte and Fay Marsden; her brothers, Thomas and Lynn Marsden; and her sisters, Linda Burwell (Howie) and Cherri Marsden. She is lovingly remembered by her partner, Al Pearen; her daughter, Andria McCrae; her sons, Jeffrey Waterstreet (Andrea) and Christopher Waterstreet (Janice); her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jean Wilson (Dennis) and Louise Barzee; her numerous nephews, nieces and extended family. DeNiese loved music of all kinds and would often play the piano and guitar with her friends and family. She enjoyed baking and sharing her "World Famous Carrot Cake" with everyone. The friends of her children came to see her as their own mother and affectionately called her "Mama Street." She loved joking around with them, making them laugh, and teasing them just like her own family. With a creative soul, she delighted in crocheting, sewing, wood carving, wood burning projects, and playing cards with family and friends. Her favorite time of the year was the annual Sisters Weekend retreats in Montana, USA, where she looked forward to this time with her sisters, daughter and nieces where all sorts of fun shenanigans would ensue. DeNiese will be forever remembered for her kindness, sense of humour, quiet strength, and the deep care she showed everyone throughout her life. The family also extends it's gratitude to the staff at Willow Creek Continuing Care in Claresholm for the outstanding care they provided to DeNiese and her family. At DeNiese’s request, no formal service will be held. Those wishing to honor her memory may donate in her name to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of their choice.
