Mr. Clair Edmund Noad

Clair Noad, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and community builder, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at the age of 82. Those who knew him - and there were many - knew that Clair was not a man who collected things. He collected relationships, and in that, he was wealthy beyond measure. Born into a life rooted in agriculture, Clair’s love of the land was shaped early by serving in the 4H Club alongside his father. That foundation carried him through a proud career in agriculture, including his years at High River Truck and Tractor and Case International, where he worked with the same dedication and warmth he brought to everything in life. Clair was a fixture in his community, not by accident, but by intention. A true community builder, he served on several boards, including the Chamber of Commerce and the Calgary Softball Association, and, up until his passing, he was on his Condo and Meals on Wheels Boards. He gave generously of his time because he believed in the people around him. For over 20 years, he coached softball and hockey. A fixture at the diamonds and rinks, where many knew him simply as Mr. Noad. As the years went on, his greatest joy became the sidelines, where he was the loudest and proudest supporter of his children and grandchildren. His love of movies was a lifelong passion, and rather than slow down in his later years, Clair opened The Moovie Ranch — a testament to his belief that retirement was no reason to stop sharing what you love with the people around you. His laughter was bold enough to carry through any wall and was one of the greatest sounds in any room he entered. Even in his final moments, he remained himself: proud, compassionate, and intent on making those around him smile. Clair had a gift that few possess, he remembered your name. Not just from last week but from years ago. To him, you mattered, and he made sure you knew it. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jan Noad (née Bradley); his sisters Vicky, Gail and Ellen; his children Craig Noad (Tammy), Melissa O’Connor (Rob), Barb Noad, and Colleen Krahn (Brent); 13 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, and 12 great-grandchildren who will carry his legacy forward. Clair Noad leaves behind a community fuller for having known him. He was, in every sense, a man who made the world around him better — and the silence where his laughter used to be will be felt for a long time to come. A life well lived. A man well loved.
