Mrs. Donna Arlene Lindquist

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, sister, grandmother, (Gram) and great grandmother at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by Douglas Lindquist her husband for 58 years, her father William Suitor, mother Florence Suitor, sister and brother in law Audrey and Les Rowland, brother in law Jerry Lindquist, father in law and mother in law Lincoln and Alberta Lindquist, brother in law Willard Davies, brother Marvin Suitor and son in law Jack Nester. Donna is survived by her daughter Diana Nester, son Dale Lindquist (Deb). Her grandchildren Deana Schmuland (Steven), Danny Culp (Tracey), and Justin Lindquist (Sasha). Great grandchildren Jenna and Logan Schmuland, Prestlie and Carson Culp and Penelope and Violet Lindquist, her sister Darlene Arnold and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in High River, Alberta Donna was raised on the family farm north of Blackie, Alberta. Donna started her school years near Gladys and completed high school in Blackie. On March 11, 1955 she married Douglas Lindquist and they lived in Blackie where Donna worked at the Royal Bank. Later moving to a farm north of Blackie and eventually settling on a farm east of Herronton to raise there family. 4D was created and they raised cattle and farmed. Donna was very active on the farm raising chickens, feeding livestock, always had a huge garden, driving tractor, feeding hired hands etc. Donna was an excellent cook and enjoyed skiing, golfing, camping and boating. She loved to travel with her family and talked a lot about the fun she had boating at Blaine Lake, Montana with her sisters Audrey and Darlene and brother Marvin and there families. After Diana and Dale had their own families Donna and Doug started travelling to Hawaii, Mexico and cruises including Alaska. Hawaii remained her favourite as she loved the foliage and the temperature there. She enjoyed golfing at the Nanton golf club and camping at the Nanton Campground where they enjoyed many friends. Doug and Donna sold the farm and retired in 1995 relocating to High River. Doug suffered a stroke shortly after and Donna became his main caregiver never missing a beat. Donna would do anything for her family and the people closest to her. She had a special spot in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandkids spent a lot on time at the farm and learned what it was to be a hard worker from both her and Doug. If you aren't going to do it right don't do it at all. This could be said even if you were just folding towels. The farm was immaculate, the house always spotless and smelling of Pine Sol, and her yard was pristine. She was a strong minded woman and loved to watch CNN and discuss the topic she was watching. She loved to visit had quick wit and her laugh was contagious. She took up knitting and made many afghans for people last count was around 100. In the last couple of years she would be asked where she got the beautiful blanket and we were all proud to tell them that she had made it. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff and caregivers Lake Bonavista Retirement Community, Mayfair Care Centre and the 2nd floor at the High River Hospital.
