Mr. Edwin Carl Bronsch

Edwin (Eddie) Carl Bronsch of High River, Alberta, passed into glory at the High River Hospital on September 2, 2024 due to a stroke. He was born in Radisson, Saskatchewan on May 11,1938 to Louis and Clara Bronsch. He is predeceased by his parents, sisters Evelyn, Lorraine, and Carol, and wife Josephine (Joey) and only son Jeffrey. Edwin was raised on the family farm near Radisson. He attended the Scotts Valley School and furthered his education to study drafting in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He married Josephine Rothenburger of Radisson in August, 1960 and began married life in Calgary, Alberta. Two years later they moved to Thompson, Manitoba where Edwin worked as a draftsman for three years at Inco Limited nickel mine. Shortly before their move to Thompson, their daughter Tamara was born in Saskatoon, while their son Jeffrey was born 13 months later in Thompson. Moving back to Calgary he was employed as a draftsman by Reid Crowther & Partners Ltd. for 12 years, where he was known as “Twiggy.” In 1974 he rented a farm near Conrich, Alberta and decided he would rather follow his dream to be a farmer rather than a draftsman. In 1977 they purchased an irrigation farm at Tilley, Alberta on the Rolling Hills Highway. Edwin was an excellent farmer, his success coming from his teamwork with his farm assist Josephine. Together, they cultivated a diverse and thriving farm, raising registered polled Herefords, growing a variety of alfalfa seed, canola, barley, wheat, hay, and expertly managing a specialized alfalfa leafcutter bee operation. Additionally, Edwin held a director position on the Alberta Soft Wheat Producers Commission, and was actively involved in his church and community. After 43 happily-married years together, Josephine entered eternity from a brief battle with cancer in 2003. Edwin continued farming and raising registered alfalfa seed while he engineered a mobile seed cleaning unit. He married Joyce Pallister of High River in January, 2009 who continued to help him with this business. After renting out and then selling his farm in 2013, they moved to High River and enjoyed 15 blessed years together. Edwin enjoyed singing, curling, hunting, fishing, inventing, travelling, playing Kaiser, eating good food, and spending time with his church community and his family. He always had a song in his heart and a joke to share, and was honest and trustworthy, a man of deep faith in God, and was a loyal friend. He would always help others, whether a friend, a neighbor, or a stranger. He is survived by his wife Joyce Pallister-Bronsch, his daughter Tamara Bellmont (Jeff); siblings Eileen Hamilton, Marion Creswell (Bob), Angela Farmer (Hugh) and brother Rodney Bronsch. Step-sons Guy Pallister and Wade Pallister (Joanna); daughters-in-law Joanne Bronsch and Charlotte Pallister; chosen step-daughter Barbara Carritt (Vince). His grandchildren Chantal and Jonathan Bellmont, Carmen Huard (Dan); his Pallister step-grandchildren Austen, Sophia, Eleanor and Pax, along with his many beloved nieces and nephews. Special mention to nephew Brian Hamilton who was like a son to Edwin. Edwin loved his family dearly, believed deeply in God, and will be greatly missed. A private interment service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens Calgary for immediate family and support friends only. Edwin’s Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the High River Full Gospel Church, located at 1802 - 9 Ave SE, High River, Alberta.
