Mr. Justin James Ikebuchi

Justin Ikebuchi was SO MUCH … in life, in work, in sport, in travel, in play, in community, and most importantly, as a proud, loving husband and dad. In the minor hockey world, Coach Justin was known as the coach with a red helmet and gloves whose goal was always to ensure that each player had fun. He was also a devoted dance dad who never missed a chance to watch his daughter do what she loved. He truly believed in community and the power of connecting with both kids and adults. In his professional life, Justin was one of the most valued equity traders in the country. He earned the respect of both clients and his peers especially because of his unique, extraordinary ability to cultivate these business relationships into lasting friendships. Sports, sports, sports. He loved to compete! Football, hockey, water skiing, baseball, bobsledding, down hill skiing, golf, darts, track and field, as well as bowling — he loved it all. Justin was a natural athlete. It was impressive to watch him show off doing basically any sport except basketball or flutter board races. His wife holds both those titles. A loyal friend and a devoted son and brother. Justin’s parents raised the most genuine and authentic friend who a person could ever ask for. It didn’t matter if he met you in elementary school, on the football field, on the trade desk, or on his kids’ sports teams, Justin made friendships for a lifetime. If you were lucky enough to become a part of his inner circle, you were guaranteed a friend who was capable of not only making you laugh until you cried, but one who would also give you his last $5 or the shirt off his back without a moment’s hesitation. He wanted to experience it all. Whether it was skiing in Japan, sailing in the BVI’s, scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, exploring wine caverns in France, or single-handedly planning a three week motor home trip with his family to the Gulf of Mexico and back. He was always looking for adventure. The dichotomy of Justin meant that he was equally as happy treating his wife to lavish experiences, like a dinner at the top of the Eiffel Tower, as he was drinking a beer and catching up with his buddies around a campfire. Although he had many awesome accomplishments in life, his true passion was his family. As his kids will tell you, dad loved: ketchup chips, new black socks, everything red (including the Flames), crib, Jerry Rice, the Raiders, Dumb & Dumber, The Tragically Hip, and U2. But most of all, he loved family time - cuddles, games, weekend pancakes, and smoking ribs. Justin really was SO MUCH and it is our hope that the focus moving forward will be on the countless moments of joy and laughter that he shared with his family and friends. He lived life fully and completely. So Much - Jamie, Sydney, Raiden, Calder & Devin Forever in the hearts of his parents, Marillyn & Jim and his brother, Ryan and his family.
