Fred passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children, at the High River Hospital at the age of 87. Fred was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Joan as well as his parents, Joseph and Anastasia Mosco and his brothers John and James (Diana) and his sisters Theresa Cundell (Zeke), Agatha White (Leslie), Susan Siroski (Tony) and Anna Coulas (Dominique). Fred is survived by his loving children Lorelei (Tom), Julie, Victoria (Kerry), Christopher, Andrew, Nancy and Timothy (Angela) as well as 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Fred dedicated 25 years to the Canadian Armed Forces and then worked in the private sector until his retirement. After moving many times with the Armed Forces, all of us fondly remember trips across Canada in the back of the station wagon, he and Joan retired to their final home in High River. While in the Forces he enjoyed playing baseball and hockey and he watched his favourite teams Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays faithfully. He was an avid Zelda player in his spare time. Some of dad’s favourite memories are the times he spent with his family in Renfrew. Fred and Joan played regularly on a bowling league and date nights were often at The Legion or playing cards or bingo. He played golf for many years and an annual Father’s Day golf game was a highlight with Chris, Andy and Tim. He took great care with his yard and was especially proud of his evergreens. We would like to thank all the family and friends who gave their love and support throughout this difficult time. A special thank you to Dr. Jensen and his staff for their many years of care. As well, we would like to thank the staff on 3rd floor for their exceptional care and compassion, and to the staff on 2nd that made dad’s final hours as comfortable as possible, thank you so much. The family will hold a private service at the columbarium in the High River Cemetery. Donations, if desired, can be made to The High River District Health Care Foundation, www.highriverhealthfoundation.ca. Caring for the family is Lyle Reeves Funerals (Craig Snodgrass) 403.652.4242.
