August 1, 1929 - March 15, 2020
Mr. John Didier, a long time resident of the Nanton/Parkland district, passed away peacefully at the Silver Willow Lodge on March 15, 2020 at the age of 90 years. John was born August 1, 1929 to parents Kisie (McMasters) Didier and Matt Didier. He was a true and faithful man of God and an inspiration and blessing to all who knew him. He lived his life loving and serving others, with his kindness, compassion and friendship - always giving - never taking. Following the death of his Father in 1948, John farmed with his mother on their property just North of Parkland. In 1965, John and Kisie moved to California where John completed a teaching degree. John taught for several years in the Los Angeles area, returning to the Parkland Farm in the mid 70’s and later moving into Nanton. Along with John’s sister Dora Hunter, and his brother-in-law Paul Hunter, John and Kisie were active members of the Christian Church in Los Angeles. John was a long time and active member of the Nanton Church of Christ, which had its beginnings in the old Broadway School District. John was well known for his wonderful singing voice and could also play the piano well. He was a great addition to the local choirs and plays in the community over the years, as well as to his church. John is predeceased by his parents, Matt and Kisie; brother Raymond Didier and sisters Dora Hunter and Betty Culham. John is survived by his brother-in-law Paul Hunter of Los Angeles, California. As well, this much loved uncle is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. John will also be missed by his church family who were all very important to John. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at Nanton Church of Christ in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Nanton Church of Christ or the charity of your choice.
