Mr. Thomas Smith

Tom Smith was born in Calgary and passed away at his home in Nanton on June 23, 2012. He lived most of his life in Calgary except for the 17 years spent in the New England area of the U.S.A. where he was employed in the ski industry. Tom was actively involved in ski instruction, and in ski area management at Mt. Snow, Vt., State College and Blue Knobe, Penn., Waterville Valley and Tenney Mt. in New Hampshire. He was an avid cyclist and rode many miles each year. He also taught X-Country skiing in Calgary after he retired. Tom leaves his wife Marcia of Taos, N.M.; his daughter Leslie of Taos, N.M.,; his son Kevin (Angela) of Calgary; his 2 grandchildren Aven and Kian; his sisters Eleanor (Reg) Houghton of Kelowna, B.C. and Dolores Earl of Winfield, B.C., and his close friend of many years Dorothy Pomerleau of Nanton. Tom will be missed by his many friends both in Canada and the U.S. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 10th at 1:00 p.m. at the Nanton Baptist Church, 2410 26th Ave., Nanton, Alberta.
