Victor Hrycyk was born on July 30, 1932 to Polly and William Hrycyk in Canora, Saskatchewan. He helped out on the family farm, completed his schooling in Canora then left to serve in the Airforce. He was stationed in the 402 Squadron out of Comox BC. After his time in the airforce he worked in the seismic industry for forty years. He moved to Calgary where he met the love of his life and soul mate – Rosaleen Nally. They were married on May 16, 1964 at which they had three children; Rebecca Moroney, Layne (Julie) Hrycyk and Paula (Art) Cox. He had nine grandchildren; Jason Moroney who was killed in a gas line accident in 2007, James Moroney, Pamela Moroney, Kieran Hrycyk, Ethan Hrycyk, Brennan Hrycyk, Jaylin Hrycyk, Adian Cox and Keaten Cox. He also had one great grandson – Mark Moroney. His later years he focused on being a grandpa and spent numerous hours building wooden toys for his grandchildren. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Rosaleen, brothers Ernie and Robert and sister Nadia Campbell, her daughter Danielle, sister in law Elizabeth (Gordon) Pyle and brother in law Conn Nally. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mom Polly, father William, sisters Mary and Sonja and brothers Orest and Norman along with his grandson Jason Moroney.
