December 4, 1934 - November 11, 2018
Warren Sidney Collard slipped away peacefully on November 11, 2018 surrounded by the compassionate care of his Doctor, Sarah Feaver, the team of wonderful people on the Second Floor and the love of his family – Shirley, Danna, Tod, Henrik and Marilyn. Warren will join his parents – Sidney and Sally Collard, his granddaughter Sarah Louise, his sister-in-law, Marlene Collard and his in-laws Curly and Louise Law. Friends and family will remember Warren’s love of life that included spending time with family, baseball of all sorts, a round of golf, a curling game, a canoe ride, musical experiences from Dixieland Jazz to Barbershop Quartet singing. He loved his time with the Blackie Gladys Players and felt rewarded by his career as a draftsman. Travelling with Shirley was very special for Warren and his role as a Minister’s spouse brought him great satisfaction. Warren’s creativity was evident in much of his woodwork and many Southern Alberta families have a special rocking horse that provides hours of enjoyment to little ones. Warren talked often about “being blessed” and all who met him felt this. Warren’s brothers – Bryan, Roger, Jerry and their families will fondly remember his sense of humor, their childhood in Winnipeg, Manitoba and summers at Lac Lu Ontario. Warren’s sisters–in-law, Gwen and Pat and their families appreciated his respect for their parents, the twinkle in his eye and the way he embraced their family. For the grandchildren, Erik, Brittany, Brooklyn and Jackson, Papa will be missed for his gentleness, his love of language and his appreciation for nature. Great grandchildren will hear many stories about the man who was their great Grandfather. They will hear stories about his strong work ethic and his deep moral code. In these stories, his memory will live forever. From the book, The Red Tent - “To mourn is respectful, to remember is holy”. A Celebration of Warren’s life was held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at the Masonic Hall in High River (405 3rd Ave SE). Memorial Donations can be sent to the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society – Box 5146, High River, Alberta T1V 1M3. To send condolences and view Warren’s Tribute Page please visit www.lylereeves.com .
