It is with heavy hearts and profound and deep sadness the family announces the passing of our most beloved wife, mother, granny, sister and friend after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Wendy passed peacefully with family by her side at the High River Hospital. Left to mourn her passing is her husband and best friend of 52 years Larry, daughter Kim Phillips, son Sean (Lisa) Phillips, daughters Angie (Ian) Phillips-Neish, Sarah (Rob) Richardson, Jacquie (Nathan) Gosick, grandchildren Keaton and Rylan Neish, Marley, Lilah, Kohen and Illey Gosick. Brothers Wayne (Irma) Bell (and children Cory and Trevor) and Todd (Deanna) Bell. Sisters-in-law Lynn Scheuerman, Debbie Tosche (and sons Cory, Darren and Ryan), and brothers-in-law Steve Phillips (Marilyn), Rick Phillips and her two dogs Zack and Buddy. Wendy was predeceased by her infant sister Mary Bell, sister Deborah Bell, mother Audrey Bell, father James Bell and her father-in-law Clifford Phillips, sister-in-law Monika Bell and mother-in-law Elsie Phillips. Special acknowledgement to her cousin Carol Bellware (Alexandria, ON) and Aunt Margaret McGrath (Portland, Oregon) and love sent to Kim Platt and family (Caledon, ON). Wendy worked for Alberta Health Services at High River Hospital for many years in various capacities where she formed lasting friendships, especially second floor long term care. Wendy retired from Alberta Health Services with the Adult Day Support Program having worked with Debbi, Larissa, Richelle, Jen, Sheryl and Brenda. She enjoyed getting together with the ‘Supper Club Gals’, Shirley, Pat, Alice, Doreen, Bev and Ann. In between working and retirement Wendy was a caregiver to Kelly and Lorraine for over 10 years. A special thank you to the Foothills AIM Society management, staff and clients. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Tom Baker Cancer Clinic, especially radiation therapy unit 6 & 7, the meticulous and dedicated care provided by Dr. Adam Vyse and the team at the High River Cancer Clinic (Megan, Kim and Becky) and to the nurses and Dr. Scott Rapske on Unit 300 for the wonderful care during Wendy’s final days (and for your patience and compassion dealing with her numerous family members). Thanks for all the support from family, friends and neighbours. To quote long-time friend Debbie Remple, “Wendy was the most loving, compassionate, selfless, caring person” she has ever met in her life. Love you Wendy, Forever and Always. See you on the other side.
