Ms. Dorothy Maud Robinson

It is with deep sadness that the family of Dorothy Maud Robinson announces her passing on December 26, 2024, in Calgary at the age of 90. Dorothy was a beloved aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt, whose warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Dorothy was born on March 5, 1934, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Charles and Agnes Robinson. She lived in Winnipeg for most of her life, moving to Calgary in 2019 to be closer to family. Dorothy had a fulfilling career as an accountant, working for several car dealerships in Winnipeg, with her final position at Birchwood Honda. Her sharp mind and dedication to her work were well respected by all who had the pleasure of working with her. Beyond her professional achievements, Dorothy was also passionate about music and singing. She was a devoted member of the Sweet Adelines chorus from the 1960s to the 1980s, where she formed lasting friendships and cherished memories. One of her closest friends, Arlene Dunlop, was someone she met through Sweet Adelines and remained a lifelong companion. Dorothy's love of music was matched by her love of knitting, and she often spent hours crafting beautiful pieces for friends and family. Throughout her life, Dorothy enjoyed traveling to the USA for Sweet Adeline conventions and visiting family in Calgary and High River. Her visits were always filled with laughter, stories, and love. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her niece, Sandra Robinson; nephew, Robert Robinson; four great-nieces, Jennifer, Rebecca (Mauricio), Dyllan, and Chase; two great-nephews, Kyle and Max; and six great-great nieces, Baylie, Morgan, Keyra, Isabel, Senna, and Arianna. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great joy in spending time with them. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Agnes Robinson, as well as her siblings, Margaret and Robert Robinson. She will be remembered for her kindness, her quick laughter, and her unwavering love for those closest to her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Dorothy's memory. Dorothy's passing leaves a deep void, but her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who loved her.
