Mrs. Sandra Dale Staneland

Sandra Dale Staneland, a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2025, at the age of 75. After being admitted to the Claresholm General Hospital in Alberta for diagnostic, and blood test Sandra was diagnosed with cancer and passed away a very short time later, leaving her family and loved ones with a profound sense of loss. Born on November 22 in Red Deer, Alberta, Sandra was a woman defined by her strong energy selfless and determined spirit. She was known for her straightforward nature and the resilience she showed throughout her life. While she trained in hairdressing as a young woman, she soon realized her true passion lay elsewhere, leading her to a lifelong, active career defined by creativity, flowers, and hard work. dedicated tireless work ethic were the hallmarks of Sandra’s 75 years. A talented floral designer, she was deeply involved in the family floral legacy, working for many years alongside her father, Warren Frache. Her passion for the industry continued throughout her life; she contributed her talents to various flower shops and was always there to lend her talents and a helping hand to her brother at Al Frache’s Flowers during their busiest seasons. Deeply caring and generous with her gift, she often created stunning wedding bouquets and floral arrangements as gifts for family members, teachers, and close friends. Sandra was also a familiar and welcoming face in Yahk, British Columbia, where she spent many years as a mainstay at Grouse Mountain Variety & Gas, the Yahk Hotel, and other local amenities always eager to support her community always involved through local events and charity draws. craft shows, etc. Sandra lived life to the fullest; she was fun-loving, active, and on the go, in her younger years. Her home was a place of warmth and love, filled with the aroma of her cooking and baking. A true social spirit, Sandra’s love for adventure was almost always shared with those she held dear. Alongside her loving husband, and best friend Kevin, she loved traveling to new places, camping, and hosting lively family gatherings. Whether she was exploring a new destination or heading out on a trip, she was frequently accompanied by her daughters, siblings or close friends. She especially cherished her many travels with her youngest sister, Tracey, creating a lifetime of shared stories and laughter. In any crowd, she was easily found by her contagious laugh, her big smile, and her beautiful blue eyes. Sandra also had a deep, lifelong love for animals; while many beloved pets had gone before her, she leaves behind her three faithful companions—Buddy, Patsy, and Layla. Her incredible talent lives on through her Etsy store, The Yahk Craft Shack. She spent countless hours knitting and sewing, making baby blankets, layouts, sweaters, hats, and mitts for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many others. Her family will fondly remember the magic and fun of Christmas time, when Sandra and Kevin would arrive—sometimes dressed as Santa—with gifts for all the children, bringing heart and joy to the season. Sandra is survived by her husband, Kevin Staneland; her daughters, Tammy (Willy) Schram and Kelly (Paul) Timmermans; and her four siblings, including her youngest sister, Tracey Stein (Ron), with whom she shared a special bond through camping, crafts, travel, and their mutual love for flowers. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold Warren Frache (1923–2016) and Kay Kathleen June Frache (1929–1992), and her sisters, Leslie Robin Mantei (1953–2003) and Shelley Gail Tappay (1951–2022). A life lived with such spirit, heart, and joy deserves to be beautifully remembered. While our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the memories that will never fade and the love that remains within us all.
